What is a carburetor? What is its function?
As is well known, cars are composed of many large parts, and these large parts are also assembled by some small components. However, did you know? There is a pure mechanical component in the engine, which is the carburetor. But some people don't know what such things are. So let's talk about what this carburetor is next? And what does it do!
What is a carburetor?
A carburetor is a mechanical device that mixes gasoline and air in a certain proportion during the operation of a car engine, after generating vacuum. This device is not only the most precise configuration among the many parts of the engine, but also a component known as the "heart" of the engine.
For such an important thing, there are also many precautions during maintenance. For example, in terms of cleaning, there are also many requirements. When cleaning the carburetor and fuel injector first, the main focus is on cleaning the idle valve and filter screen. These two things should be cleaned at regular maintenance and repair centers.
And it also needs to be cleaned with professional equipment, because there is no benefit in cleaning casually. And the carburetor should be cleaned in a clean place. When wiping the outer surface of the carburetor, it is necessary to use carburetor specific cleaning agents or industrial gasoline to clean the internal parts. This will extend the service life.
What is its function?
The function of a carburetor is to atomize gasoline by utilizing the fluidity of the inhaled air. Because gasoline does not directly enter the combustion chamber of the engine through a conduit. Gasoline must be mixed with purified air to form a misty mixture that is easy to burn when entering the combustion chamber. So, send the gasoline to the carburetor.
So the carburetor will produce a mixture of gas with a concentration and quantity that matches different engine speeds. Therefore, when the engine rotates at different speeds, such as idle, low, medium, and high, the concentration and amount of the mixture supplied through the carburetor are adjusted accordingly.
The carburetor will automatically match the corresponding concentration and output the corresponding mixture volume according to the different operating conditions of the engine. And in order to ensure even mixing of the mixed gas, the carburetor also has the function of atomizing fuel to supply the normal operation of the internal parts of the car.
